Lor, after his mother's death, goes on a journey to fulfill her last wish, giving her promise necklace to Lor's father whom he never met. Early on his way, he meets a traveling male midwife Ise and they go town to town. On this search, they meet a bunch of people and Lor learns about the world's current and past fallen religion, which was destroyed by the god of birth's jealousy.
